Village Well has over 17 years of experience in
creating great and vibrant sustainable places.
We have been involved in creating some of the most iconic places in Australia and New Zealand including the revitalisation of the laneways of Melbourne including Flinders Lane and Degraves Street, Melbourne Central, Kings Cross in Sydney, and Tauranga CBD in New Zealand. We work with a diversity of clients from small businesses and community groups to councils and large development companies.
We believe that Place Making is a powerful process of creating great places that are meaningful to the community who inhabit and use them. It involves a deep understanding of the site, its history and features, community engagement and stakeholder collaboration that build ownership of the place and a local response to global issues influencing the way the community works, lives and plays. Place Making recognises that each place and community are unique and builds a story based on this essential point of difference. The antithesis of Place Making is a one size fits all approach.
