Context
Cowra CBD holds immense potential to transform into a vibrant hub which celebrates culture, attracts visitors and engages the community. After challenging economic setbacks and a lack of identity key areas throughout the town had lost their charm.
Village Well was engaged by Cowra Council to guide and inspire Cowra CBD in creating a Place VIsion and Activation Plan which ignites action, collaboration and posotions their CBD as a dynamic and resilient community space. Reimagining the CBD as an eclectic and vibrant community co-designed space.

Impact
Inspired participants to imagine the CBD through practical strategies for investment and tourism to boost the local economy.
Engaged 128 stakeholders in co-designing the Place Vision and Activation Plan to ensure community ownership and that it reflects their ambitions.
Reignited local enthusiam for enhancing Cowra’s indentity and vibrancy.
Inspired the community to form an action group ‘Can-do Cowra’ to reignite their CBD.
Guided Council and funding bodies in project delivery.
Village Well’s place-led approach laid the foundation for a community-driven transformation of Cowra CBD. We were able to provide Cowra Council with a roadmap for revitilisation to ensure Cowra’s unique charm is celebrated and the local economy is strengthened.
